The Snapper (Chrysophrys auratus) from the family Sparidae (Snappers & Breams) is rarely seen by divers in Sydney. It is distinguishable from the other species in this family by the presence of its blue dots. This fish can reach 1.2m in length but is often caught by commercial fishermen before it reaches this size.
